“The Colour of Memory” represents the synesthetic experience of colour and observes its complex associations to time, space and memory. The collection of artist books are crafted and displayed as archival documents, characterizing the internal operations of the brain as it stores and retrieves various experiences. Photos of a palette line the interior of the folder, demonstrating the connection between the artist and her materials as she makes each watercolour paint by hand. This interactive piece allows the intangible essence of memory to exist outside of the artist’s brain and live within the pages of each book.
