“Emotion and memory are observed through everyday experience and represented through a combination of observational and abstract methods. Representational drawings and paintings often morph into atmospheric abstractions, bridging the gap between what was seen and what was felt (tangible/intangible). Through this process, I seek to understand the complexities of memory and its relationship to the senses.”
Laura Klinard (she/her) is an emerging artist based in Tkaronto/Toronto, Ontario. She mainly practices with watercolour and acrylic media, creating artwork that ranges from small works on paper to large-scale canvas paintings. The inspiration for her art often stems from personal memory, observed environments, and various elements of nature. Laura graduated from Fanshawe College in 2020 with an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art and from OCAD University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting.
